Motorcoaches are the most fuel efficient
Motorcoaches only use 823 BTUs per passenger mile compared to domestic air carriers using 2,465, trains using 1,561, and autos using 2,898, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation Energy Data Book (Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Center for Transportation Analysis). All data is from 2012, although passenger car data is from 2006 – the last year passenger car data was included in the report.

Charter FAQs

What is the cancellation policy?

The $300 deposit is non-refundable and is forfeited with cancellation. Cancellations made with less than a 2 week notice will incur a charge of 20% of the total amount or $300, whichever is the greater amount. Cancellations made less than 7 business days prior to the day of service will incur a charge of 50% of the charter amount, while cancellations made with less than a 24 hour notice will incur a 100% charge.

How much of a deposit is required?

$300 per vehicle per day is required at the time of booking.

When is the final payment due?

The balance (less deposit paid) is due 30 days prior to the first date of service.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept credit cards, money orders and checks. These should be made payable to Krapf Coaches.

How soon do I need to reserve service?

The earlier you make your reservations, the more options you will have. The fall and spring are the busier times, so we recommend booking at least 12 weeks prior to your date of need. In less demanding times, six weeks prior is acceptable.

Do I need to tip the motorcoach driver?

A 10% gratuity, with a maximum of $150 per bus per day, is included for all bookings.

Do I need to pay for parking, tolls and other fees?

Our pricing is all inclusive. However, there are times when parking is not included in the pricing. Please ask your representative if parking is included or separate when reserving your service.

Do I need to reserve the hotel room for the motorcoach driver?

Yes, for overnight trips, it is customary to reserve and pay for the driver.

Is alcohol or smoking permitted?

Smoking is not allowed on any Krapf Coach. Alcohol is permitted provided that all passengers are of the legal drinking age. Only plastic or aluminum containers are allowed. Coolers must be placed on a passenger seat, not in the aisle. Kegs and beer balls are not allowed. In some cases a security deposit is required. Please check with your representative.

I have a CDL License, can I charter a bus without an operator?

No, our insurance policy does not allow this.
